What Would You Do?

The Photo Studio Project Specialist coordinates and orchestrates all content deliverables and projects incoming and outgoing from the internal Palliser photo studios (Canada and Mexico) from concept to completion.

This individual’s primary objective is to ensure the vision and content requirements of our internal stakeholders (Palliser/EQ3/Encore) come to life through our internal production team and external contracted partners.

Key responsibilities will include project, budgetary and timeline management, product and people logistics, quality control and content accuracy, brand authenticity, and creative direction execution. These responsibilities pertain to all studio related photography and videography related projects in the realm of pre-production, real-time production, and post-production.

Primary duties and responsibilities of this position are outlined below:

  • Coordinate and schedule for project requirements to ensure the content team completes projects on time and within budget for our various consumer facing brand (Palliser/EQ3/Encore).
  • Creates workback schedules that allow for photography and post-production to be completed in time for launches/markets/in-store releases.
  • Works cross departmentally to determine product needs and deliverables
  • Documents scripts/shot lists (new and audited updates) then communicates with Photographer all variances/updates/changes to scripts and feature details to ensure all appropriate content is captured.
  • Lifestyle/Semi-Lifestyle/Brand/Campaign
  • Works closely with Content Director, Photographer and Facilitator to ensure scheduling, concept planning, timelines and are being met
  • Assists the Content Director in on-set direction in terms of shot direction/styling/quality control etc.
  • Ensures all post-production activities have been administered (clean up, product return, post-production file exports/work, etc).
  • Asset Post-Production and Management
  • Triage and manage all photo and video related requests from all brands
  • Develops project costing outlines, budgets and lead time estimates for internal stakeholders approval
  • Manages third party agencies as per project requirements, acting as the primary liaison for all external relationships
  • Scout and book potential shoot locations as requested.
  • Create and optimize in-house and external photography process SOPs.
  • Secure all required safety permits and insurance policies that may be require for external shoots
  • Prioritize multiple ongoing projects according to deadlines provided/created
  • Challenge current processes, innovate best practices for all aspects of the role
  • Travel when applicable
  • Other duties as assigned / flexibility to take on different tasks in accordance with the needs of the business

What Do You Bring?

  • Degree or diploma in project management, business, marketing, communications or related field.
  • Min 3 years in a project management/coordination role
  • Experience in a production related environment a strong asset
  • Experience or interest in the furniture industry an asset
  • Strong knowledge in pre-production, production, and post-production processes for both photography and videography – and the various styles of content and campaigns to which this creative is expected
  • Experience in graphic design / Adobe Suite (specifically Photoshop & Lightroom) is an asset
  • Expert level experience in using Microsoft Office Suite, including: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficiency utilizing project management tools and software (Zoho Projects, Asana etc)
  • General knowledge in photography, videography, and related software (Capture One, Adobe Suite)
  • Willingness to learn and adopt post-production processes when required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
